Session profiles, naked POCs and developing POC
A separate profile for each session, POCs that price never returned to, and the POC computed candle by candle.
How we compute it
A profile for each session (Asia, London, New York) or day from its start. Naked POC: the POC of a closed period that price did not touch afterwards, extended to the right edge. Developing POC and value area: the state since the start of the period at every moment.
How to read it
- A developing POC moving with price is value migrating (a trend); a POC standing still is balance.
- Naked POCs show where the market traded heavily, then left and never came back.
Traps
- A naked POC is a place, not a target: frequent returns are largely geometry (the POC usually lies close to price).
Combine with
- With sessions: the London POC versus price after the New York open.
- With the day's levels: a naked POC near PDH or PDL.
